Picket Post Toastmasters
Picket Post Toastmasters achieved
President's Distinguished status once again in 2008-2009! What does this mean?
By earning President's Distinguished status, we demonstrate that we

are an active, well run club that provides many opportunities for our members to develop their communication and leadership skills to reach their goals.
Several of our Club members have reached their own milestones so far this year.
Janet Schwartzbeck earned her Advanced Leader - Bronze certification in February '10, and many other Club members are within just a few speeches of earning their own Competent Communicator or Advanced Communicator certification!
These achievements underscore what Picket Post Toastmasters
has achieved recently, and what we can do for you! We look forward to meeting you and helping you to achieve your goals!
Toastmasters International
Toastmasters International is a non-profit organization which gives its members the opportunity to develop and improve their public speaking abilities through local club meetings, training seminars and speech contests. Toastmasters International includes more than 199,000 men and women in more than 9,300 clubs in more than 70 countries.
The Toastmasters Experience
At Toastmasters, members learn by speaking to groups and working with others in a supportive environment. A typical Toastmasters club is made up of 20 to 30 people who meet biweekly for about an hour and a half. Each meeting gives everyone an opportunity to practice conducting meetings, giving impromptu speeches, presenting prepared speeches, and offering constructive evaluation.
What can Picket Post Toastmasters do for you ?
Experienced professionals and beginning speakers alike can benefit from our practical, face-to-face learning program. Whether you're speaking to the board of directors, your customers, your co-workers or your kids, Toastmasters can help you do it better. You'll learn and practice in a friendly, comfortable environment with people who are there for the same reason you areto become better communicators.
The Picket Post club is proactive in working with our new members to improve their speaking and leadership skills. Upon joining the club, our Mentoring Chairman will assign you an experienced speaker as a mentor, who will work with you to help you achieve your unique goals. Your mentor will guide you through the club's meeting structure, the roles assumed by members during meetings, and will work with you through your first several 'talks' (at a minimum). Speak with our club's Mentoring Chairperson, Patrick Moran, during your visit for more details!
